THE CENTRAL COAST DOUBLE (CCD) IS A BICYCLE RIDE 211.4 MILES AND 14,000 FEET OF CLIMBING ELEVATION. WE'RE AN ORGANIZATION COMPRISED OF AN ALL VOLUNTEER STAFF.
CENTRAL COAST DOUBLE CENTURY RIDE STARTS MAY 12, 2018.
The CCD consist of two routes. A lowland and highland route. The lowland route is 197.2 miles at 12,600 ft of climbing. The traditional route (highland) is 211.4 miles and 14,000 ft of climbing. Both routes are credited toward the Triple Crown.
This is one of the more difficult double centuries in the California Triple Crown Series. The Central Coast Double should not be your first attempt at riding 200+ miles, due to the nature and extent of the climbs, which become more difficult if it is a very hot day. In contrast if you have completed events such as Climb to Kaiser, Terrible Two, Heartbreak, Devil Mountain or the Markleeville Death Ride (all passes) then this ride can be completed well within the time limit.
